Abstract: Mining city itself is a representative stage during the process of urbanization. Lengthening the manufacturing chain of those cities is a strategy in reforming the old industrial bases、rationalizing the industrial structure and sustaining the development of these cities. The mode of lengthening manufacturing chain of mining cities should be established by relying on local resources, putting technology in the first pace, deepening transformation and developing comprehensively. To realize all these, rational industrial policy must be as a guarantee; new investment should be attracted; high-tech creativity should be enhanced; talent strategy should be carried out; environment should be protected and constructed and main industry should be healthily maintained. In this case, it can be accumulated for lengthening manufacturing chain.
