Abstract: Antimony is an important strategic mineral, mainly used in the manufacture of flame retardant. At the same time, it is used in strategic and high technical fields, such as conductive powder, conductive paste, golden silk dyes, magnetic materials. It’s application has also become a research hot spot in many developed countries. China has the world's largest antimony reserve, and currently Hunan province is the main production area. In a long term, China provide nearly 90% of the world supply with more than half of the world reserve. Long and excessive mining lead to sharp decline in domestic support capability of antimony resources. Since the end of 2009, rising prices sparked global new antimony project investment. According to the situation, after synthesize different data the author predicate the demand and supply gradually trend to be balanced in the next three years. The author also put forward some suggestions to promote the development of antimony, such as strengthen survey and evaluation of antimony resources, layout domestic mine industrial structure overall, and push the comprehensive utilization of resources and so on.
