Abstract: sensing based reclamation efficiency index (RSREI) was developed.The index combined four indicators,such as DEM,NDVI,LST and TVDI,which reflect the terrain conditions and hydrothermal conditions in study area.An addition of four indicators method was utilized to compress the four indicators into one.By comparing with the standard deviation method,the RSREI calculated from the addition of four indicators method is more reasonable for the dynamic evaluation through the time.The RSREI was applied in reclaimed dump area in Pingshuo open-cast mine.As a quantitative indicator,it is used in spatial-temporal analyzing and thematic mapping.Meanwhile,the RSREI is expected to be an auxiliary indicator for filed measurements.
