Abstract: Labrador Trough Belt owns the world-class largest Superior Lake taconite sedimentary formation.The rich iron ore resources and the transparent legal system of Canada provide good opportunity for building our overseas resource base.However,the vast territory with a sparse population makes imbalanced development of the infrastructure there,particularly for the high cold regions farther than north latitude 55°,the issues such as the construction scale,product transport,financial and tax policies and the aboriginals,etc.are quite crucial,which need to be considered prudently when making an investment decision.The author has experienced the investment studies into several oversized iron mines.And this paper is intended to highlight the essential problems in the course of project investment studies.
