Abstract:
This paper calculated the carbon emissions from the industries, residential sector and cement production from 2004 to 2012 in Pingdingshan,an important coal-oriented city in China. The logarithmic mean Divisia method (LMDI) was applied to calculate the contributions of the driving factors to carbon emissions. The results were as follows:①The carbon emissions were increasing at a rate of 13.226% annually;②The contributions of positively driving factors, which mainly included industrial energy intensity, per capita GDP,industrial structure, etc, were far greater those of the negatively inhibiting factors which included energy intensity in the residents sectors and energy structure. The improvement of energy utilization technology and the industrial transformation and upgrading would be the keys to low-carbon city.
