Abstract:
The features of the processing mineralogy of the iron ore somewhere in Nigeria are investigated by the means of chemical multi-element analysis, chemical phase analysis, optical microscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and electron spectroscopy. The chemical composition, mineral composition, dissemination characteristics, granularity, embedded characteristic and phosphorus occurrence mode of ores are determined. The research results showed that the main ore structure is oolitic. Hematite and limonite are the main minerals of the ore,the gangue minerals are few and hard to be definited. Due to their fine dissemination and close association with gangue minerals, the iron ore particles are hard to be fully liberated, bringing difficulty in their separation. The iron ore is a high phosphorous refractory ore with the phosphorous mainly occurs in the form of isomorphism and extremely fine mechanical interfusion, the independence minerals of the phosphorous are few.
