Abstract: Since the founding of new China,the work about geological data has experienced several stages of starting,stagnation,recovery and rapid growth.According to the references,the paper increase conformed to the classical model which was from slow linear growth to rapid exponential growth between 1978 and 2015.Especially during the last 15 years,the cumulative 94% papers have been published,and the"geological archives","file management"and"data service"and"informatization"were considered as its main research areas."Original geological data"and"geological sample data"were the hot points in the past5 years,which reflected the progress of clustering,industrialization of geological data services and the entrusted management plan.Geological data is a part of Archival Science in general,and is closely related to geology in the content.China's geological data management and research in mining,petroleum,coal,nonferrous metal,metallurgy and other industries are not balanced,need to be coordinated and strengthened continually.
