Abstract: Scientific and rational classification is the prerequisite of choosing the sustainable development mode for mining area and also one important content of research area of mining area's sustainable development.The paper establishes the fuzzy clustering model for the classification of coal mine areas and uses the model to classify the mining area into four varieties and proposes the operation modes suitable for the area's development.
