Abstract:
China has preponderant mineral resources such as rare earth, tungsten, tin, antimony, molybdenum and other minerals. Most rare metals have the features of High temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, hardness, good electrical and thermal conductivity. They are internationally recognized as strategic resources and widely used in defense and military fields, like high-tech industry, the Atomic Energy, aerospace, and sophisticated weapons. The government should gradually strengthen the emphasis on strategic metals, make further study, ensure the rational development and utilization of these resources through a serie of industrial policies, and formulate appropriate industrial policies to enhance the pricing power of rare earth, tungsten, antimony, and tin. Besides, the government should also enhance the research of the scarce rare metals such as lithium, germanium, and indium, and to strengthen their reserves. This article makes research on 17 kinds of rare metals, and makes great suggestions.
