Abstract: With the operational work,the present situation of the geological data catalog management is researched andanalyzed in this paper:existing standards of the geological data catalog;the provision and application of catalog with different data types;information systems for the catalog management in use.At the basis of this,the using scope and difference of existing standards are analyzed,comparative study is carried out on the different catalog customization and application,the existing information systems in using are analyzed,and finally,the comprehensive analysis to the presentsituation is carried out.We think that the not unified catalog data standards,more information systems,the not perfect shared services mechanism,and the lagging behind construction of management system are several factors to constraining geological data management and services.In the end,some suggestions are provided,including integration standards development,catalog data integration technology and build a unifiedinformation system,etc.
