Abstract: The paper perfected the classes of mining areas and studied coal mining technology for old mining areas'sustainable development.The main restricted factors of old mining areas'sustainable development were found.And a new method which the entries were supported with gob side entries'refuses for thin coal seams were invented in this paper.So the thought that the refuses were not carried to the grond came true.
