Abstract:
The construction of archive organizations is the basic guarantee for geologic data collection and application, directly determining the service level of the geologic data in our country. Based on the four aspects including collection system, data management, infrastructures, and talent pool, this paper analyzed the current status of our geological data collection agencies, revealed four major development trends in the future, including the further standardization of data management, the diversified multi-dimensional network share transfer of data service mode. the modernization, intellectuality, and multiple function development of library collection infrastructures, and the urgent need for library staffs who have archive information technology and service awareness. Finally, we proposed the three policy recommendations, i. e., Improving the evaluation and management of all levels of library collection agencies, gradually harmonizing the affiliations among various geological data collection agencies, and further promoting the extend of geological data management to towns and counties.
