Abstract: Zirconium is a strategic emerging mineral，its resource security plays an important role in the development of China’s emerging industries，especially nuclear power industry.Based on the analysis of zirconium resources situation and the supply and demand pattern，it is considered that the main problems faced by security of China’s zirconium resources are that：the resources endowment condition is poor；domestic supply capacity is seriously insufficient；the external dependence is high；import sources are concentrated，and global zirconium ore enterprises tend to monopolize.There are several suggestions：developing zirconium ore resources potential investigation，carrying out the metallurgical technology research，encouraging domestic enterprises to establish mineral resources reserves，domestic zirconium enterprises should sign a long-term contract，in order to ensure the supply of zirconium resources in China.
