Abstract: The mining industry in Gejiu has a long history of more than 2000 years, especially for tin. Gejiu is called "the capital of tin", and is a typical Resource-based city. Based on the development features for mining industry in Gejiu, the history of mining industry in Gejiu includes three phases: the Ancient mining history, the modern mining industry and the contemporary mining history. The history of Gejiu is actually a shining development history for mining industry. Studying the development history of mining industry should not only be significant for the mining planning and the sustainable development of Gejiu, but also provide reference for the construction and development of mining cities in China.
