Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to discuss the countermeasures of saving and intensive land use of the cities,which are resources-based.Methods of documentation and investigation are employed.The results of investigation show that:There are many serious problems in the land use of Fugu County,such as the intense contradictions in the supply and demand of construction land;the grim situation in the protection of farmland;the inefficient use of land resources,as well as the great difficulty in land consolidation and urban expansion.It is concluded that the city should establish the mechanism of saving and intensive use of land from the eight aspects to promote the sustainable development of the city,such as strictly implement land use planning,control the total scale of construction land;develop the survey and evaluation of land use and so on.
