Abstract:
A reliable prediction of rock mass cavability is a critical factor in the successful caving of most orebodies.Through reviewing and systemizing the papers at home and abroad,the study of cavability should include available to collapse,reasonable undercut size to achieve continuous caving and reasonable fragmentation.Further the advantage and disadvantage were summarized when scholars research on it from now on,and then the status in prediction of cavability research was clearly summarized.Broadly speaking,the conclusions were obtained as following.At first,more projects should be increased into the empirical methods to expend their application range.Secondly,how to simulate the property of joints when using physical model was increasingly important.The last but not the least,the coupling of different numerical simulation methods should be given more and more attention to evaluate the cavability.Perhaps,this paper will provide reference for correlation workers and mining engineers.
