Abstract:
The major reasons that non-standard rock samples in indoor rock mechanics tests are adopted are explained in this paper.Referring to the correlating research achievements from home and abroad, suitable engineering processing methods are suggested in three cases, which are uniaxial compression tests with different height-to-diameter ratio of non-standard rock samples, uniaxial compression tests with different sizes of non-standard rock samples, and triaxial tests with small diameter rock samples.Such processing methods are multiplying height-to-diameter ratio correction factor or diameter correction factor to the corresponding test results, and adopting axial stress formula in triaxial tests with small diameter rock samples. These methods have good reliability, comparability, universality and maneuverability.
