Abstract: Cobalt is an important metal resources to develop strategic emerging industries,mainly used in military,aviation,metallurgy and other fields,recently with advances in technology widely used in the rechargeable battery,especially in new energy industries.Since 2007,China had has the largest cobalt consumption in the world,and China has been a lack of cobalt ore resources,which 95% of cobalt ore raw materials was imported and domestic market was severely constrained by cobalt resources abroad.Although world economic situation has no significant improvement,but the demand for cobalt downstream industry remains strong.At present,China is developing strategic emerging industries and it is vital to rasie the strategic resources security ability of cobalt for emerging industries.For these above,this paper analyzed cobalt resource distribution home and abroad,supply and demand situation of cobalt resources,development and utilization status,reported the latest progress of domestic cobalt ore exploration and development,and proposed some suggestions about cobalt resource management such as strengthen the minning exploration home and overseas,establish cobalt strategic resources reserve system and improve the efficiency of cobalt resources recycling.
