Abstract: Based on the samples of the original rocks collected in the opencast in the west of Fushun city, rocks acidification potential and the activity of heavy metals in the original rocks were studied hy experiments. It was indicated that the original rocks in the opencast in the west of Fushun city which had low or moderate acid prductivity had the possilbility of further acidification. The activity of the heavy metals in the original rocks varied with the location in the rock layers, and the activity of the heavy metals in the exterior intensified.
