Abstract:
Chinese enterprises’ mining investment overseas has declined significantly in 2013 compared with last year. The structures of the investment area, minerals, sources of funding, enterprise nature are all analyzed. The result shows that the external environment of Chinese mining investment overseas is becoming more complicated, although the downturn of the international mining industry providing more merger & acquisition opportunities, and capitalization of overseas assets have been strengthened, more sustainable development requirements including labor issue and etc. have also come up while offshore projects are not going well as a whole, all of which request investors optimizing investment structures while the market providing a better services system, and the industry having more self-regulation.
