Abstract: This article reviewed the development of domestic and foreign mining heritages on the basis of consulting many relative references on mining heritages and mining parks. It also summarized the deficiency of mining heritage research in China through reviewing the following aspects of mining heritages: connotation and classification,investigation and evaluation,and protection and utilization. Moreover,the article analyzed the future research strategies such as developing national typical mining heritages investigation,organizing the declaration and registration system of mining heritages,establishing a national technical requirement and evaluation system,and building the theoretical basis for China's legislation of mining heritages protection.
