Abstract:
A systematic study on process mineralogy of five different graphite mine in Xichuan county of Henan province had been conducted with the help of the X-ray fluorescence analysis, the polarization microscope analysis, and the X-ray diffraction analysis. The result showed that the fixed carbon content of the graphite is about 11%, the impurity constituent is mainly consist of silicon dioxide and aluminum oxide. The content of the graphite, the objective mine, is about 10%, and in gangue minerals, quartz(about 40%) and muscovite(about 25%) are major, and the graphite mainly distributed alternatively with quartz and muscovite. Five different graphite mine can be divided into two categories, which first category includes 1
# and 2
#, and second category contains 3
#, 4
# and 5
#. Two kinds of graphite are different in the particle size, and the grinding fineness needs respectively less than 0.0026 mm and 0.013 mm so that the liberation degree of the graphite can reach 90%. In all, the two kinds of graphite mine are refractory, and the first category is more refractory than the second one.
