Abstract: TheⅠmainorebody is a new discoverable one of zhaotong lead-zinc mine and the average horizontal thickness is 17.93 m, the maximum thickness reach 43m, Pb+Zn average grade is 18.27%. Using overhand cut and fill stoping dry backfilling method often lead to roof failed in stability and the height of goaf failure over 6m, the main reason is the incompact ore body and the so many pyrite. In order to resolve this issue, the mine will use the cemented filling with tailings mining method in the future. In the two years’ interim period, a safe and oecumenical mining method is necessary, that will be helpful for the normal production of mine and will offer more reference to use the cemented filling with tailings mining method.
