Abstract: High-aluminum clay ores are protective exploitation ores given by the Ministry of Land and Resources,which have played an significant role in social economic development and military use.However, due to its physical and chemical properties,mineral features and current mineral classification,highaluminum clay ores are used as normal refractory clay in practical application which does not optimize the use of resources and results in huge waste of it.By analyzing the differences and similarities between highaluminum clay and refractory clay and bauxite in the way of mineral composition,petrochemistry,physical structure and etc.,this paper proves that the physical and chemical properties,mineral characteristics and etc.of high-aluminum clay ores achieve the standards of industrial index of bauxite.So the authors believe that high-aluminum clay ores should be classified into bauxite.Meanwhile,this paper also puts forward improvements and normalization of high-aluminum clay ores exploitation combining with present situation of its investigation and development in Henan province.
