Abstract: Hunan Province is abundant in stannum,zinc and lead resource and an important industrial base for stannum,lead and zinc in China,with its available reserve ranking No.4 in China.The stannum-lead-zinc mining plays an important role in satisfying the consumption demand,promoting the export trade,creating employment opportunities and developing relevant industries.However,the guaranteed period of the available reserve of stannum,lead and zinc are all below 10 years and can not satisfy the domestic and international demand.The author believes that the measures such as rational arrangement of the land resources survey,strengthening of prospecting in old mines and neighboring areas and deep part of the mines,establishment of mining right market,increase of the input on geologic prospecting and enhancing of the comprehensive utilization of resources etc.can meet the challenges on stannum,lead and zinc prospecting brought forth by the sustainable development of social economy.
