Given China's national strategy of developing the country through engineering education, the urgency to improve the quality of China's college graduates and the practical need to curb excessive production capacity of China's mining industry and to sharpen the core competitiveness of the employees of the mining enterprises, the school-enterprise cooperation in personnel training in the mining industry now faces new opportunities and challenges. This thesis, starting from the analysis of the deadlock trapping the original mode of such cooperation, explores new modes of cooperation in the new era,namely,on-campus training of enterprise employees underlying the training of the chief mining engineers, temporary posts in mining enterprises taken by college teachers featuring the "Lixing Program",and school-enterprisecooperative education of college students highlighting the production of excellent mining engineers. These new modes can well extend the school-enterprise cooperation in personnel training in the mining industry.
