Abstract: Acid mine drainage is a waste water with low pH value and high concentrations in metal ions, produced by physical, chemical and biological common roles in sulfide mineral. In this article, some progresses were described in forming mechanism of AMD including a key reason and three important conditions and some useful treatment techniques were evaluated. Finally, a few of principles in AMD prevention and control were recommended.
