Abstract:
Ferric sulphate was prepared by calcination and acidic leaching from iron stone. A new type of inorganic high molecular coagulative agent-polyferric silicate sulfate (PFSS) was prepared by using ferric sulfate, sodium silicate as raw materials. The effect of the PFSS dosage and pH value of the wastewater on the coagulative property of the PFSS was studied. By the tests, the optimum preparative technological conditions of PFSS were as follows: SiO
2 mass fraction 3%, activation time 40min, pH of the activation 2, mol ratio of Fe to Si 0.50. The results of the coagulative experiment for treating high COD and high turbidity wastewater showed that the coagulative efficiency of the PFSS is much better than that of PFS.
