Abstract: Abundant of shale gas geological resources in China,26 trillion m³ of recoverable shale gas resource in major basins and regions of China.At present,China is actively promoting the shale gas exploration and development work,more money and policy focused on the exploration and development,environmental problems about shale gas exploration and development may bring do not seriously enough.This paper reviews the environmental problems during the shale gas development in US and domestic mineral development,thinking that may face below environmental problems in china’s shale gas exploration and development:land occupation,destruction and pollution;water consumption and pollution;air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions;geological disasters.And making a number of specific environmental protection proposals,such as developing new technologies of shale gas exploration and development;the establishment of environmental evaluation system;the establishment of relevant regulations and contingency plans.To provide a reference how to handle the relationship between the environment and resources for China’s shale gas exploration and development.
