Abstract: The United States,as one of the world,s largest countries in economics,politics,military and energy powers,plays a significant role in international energy and geopolitical structure.Over the next 30 years,the United States will have the ability to achieve self-sufficiency of all kinds of energy under the dual function of both low-speed demand and high-speed supply domestically.Although the U.S.energy independence has a positive meaning in alleviating international energy supply and stabilizing international energy prices,it will also bring many uncertainties to the international energy and geopolitical security.Facing the future,China should seize the opportunity to expand overseas energy source actively;to enhance maritime transport and protection ability and open up new transport route actively to ensure the safety of energy transportation channel.Meanwhile,China ought to strengthen the cooperation with India and the Association of South-East Asian Nations(ASEAN)in new energy development and utilization,carbon emission reduction and other aspects,so that they can resist the containment from the developed countries and achieve win-win cooperation.
