Abstract: Mineral resources exploration and exploitation “going global” is an important measure to enhance national energy and mineral resources security and global governance capabilities.In 2018, China’s overseas investment in mineral exploration continued to decline, social investment confidence is insufficient, and the incentive to “going global” for geological exploration groups has weakened.On the other hand, outward investment for merger and acquisition in the mining industry have bottomed out, and large equity investments are frequent.Overseas mining projects cover all the 6 continents, and global cooperation on production capacity in mining industry has achieved some effect, becoming an important force to promote “the belt and road” initiative.The diversification pattern of the enterprises nature and investment contents are forming, and the private enterprises are developing rapidly.Intensive revision of mining policies in major resource countries, the vigorously policies to support establish overseas cooperation zones,and critical minerals become the focus of global attention, all the emergence of these new situations will bring new opportunities and challenges to the “going global” of mineral exploration and exploitation.
