Abstract: This paper analyzes the status quo of water resources development and utilization in the United States and summarizes the specific methods of water resources management in the United States from the perspectives of management history, management system and management experience.It also points out the future direction of the US water resources management policies and summarizes experience and lessons of water resources management in the United States and analyzes the global strategy of water resources management from the perspectives of means, priority areas, global strategic changes, etc.Finally, this paper proposes how to improve China’s water resources management on the basis of the above analysis of the US water resources management system and global strategy.
