Abstract: The reclamation value of arable land in mining area is related to the feasibility of the reclamation project.Based on the literature analysis and field investigation, this paper discusses the impact of land reclamation on the social value of arable land, and analyzes the feasibility of reclamation project to improve the quality and value of cropland.Using the contingent valuation method (CVM) to estimate the impact of land reclamation on the social value of arable land.The results show that the social value of arable land after land reclamation in mining area has been greatly improved, the social benefits are remarkable, which are consistent with people's expectations.Although social value obtained is lower than investment, the land use value has been restored, the vision of "invaluable assets" has been realized, and cropland has been supplemented to ensure food security and economic development.
