Abstract:
The core issue of resource and reserve estimation is to determine the domains of samples involved in the estimation and their weights. The IDW estimation based on 3D mining software in China generally uses the data of industrial mining companies to participate in resource and reserve estimation, and mainly determines the estimate parameters such as distance, power parameters based on experience, so the estimation process is greatly affected by human factors. In response to this problem, on basic statistics of the survey data, the methods of fractal analysis and boundary analysis are introduced to confirm the estimated grade domain, and the variogram is used to analyze the quantitative/semi-quantitative estimation parameters.Taking the Kalumbwe Copper-Cobalt Mineral Deposit in Congo (DRC)as a case, this paper show that the improved IDW workflow has a better local verification effect of the valuation results and is consistent with the actual mine production data by the verification and comparison through different valuation methods and combination with actual mine production data. The new workflow integrates the characteristics of different valuation methods and deepens the connection between the geological characteristics of the sample data and the mineralization grade characteristics, which is important for improving the accuracy and precision of resource and reserve estimation, reducing the conditional deviation of interpolated grades, and improving mine site management have important theoretical and practical significance. It is worthy of further promotion in practical work.
