Abstract:
The use of waste rock from iron ore mines to prepare sand and gravel aggregates can ensure the safe supply of sand and stone aggregate industry, and solve the waste rock stockpile problem in high quality. Based on the testing of the basic properties and national standards of waste rocks from Waitoushan Iron Mine and Longxin Iron Mine, the research on the correlation between different crushing methods on the performance parameters of manufactured sand: stone powder content, particle gradation and particle size are carried out. The results show that the waste rock from Waitoushan Iron Mine and Longxin Iron Mine conforms to the national standards for raw materials of manufactured sand; the manufactured sand produced by the vertical shaft crusher has a uniform distribution of gradation compared with the manufactured sand produced by other crushers; the aspect ratio and roundness in the profile characteristic index and the fractal dimension in the angular characteristic index are used to characterize the particle shape characteristics, and the results show that different crushing methods have significant effects on the mechanism. The results show that different crushing methods have significant effects on the grain profile characteristics of the sand, where the profile characteristic index is from low to high for hammer-broken, vertical shaft-broken, disk-broken, cone-broken and jaw-broken sand, and the angular characteristic index is from low to high for disk-broken, cone-broken, hammer-broken, jaw-broken and vertical shaft-broken sand. The results of the study can provide reference for the process flow of mine waste rock preparation of manufactured sand.
