Mineral resources potential and exploration prospect in the Republic of Cameroon

The Republic of Cameroon is rich in several types of mineral resources, like iron ore, cobalt, nickel, bauxite, gold, diamond, uranium and rutile, hosted in Archean craton and Proterozoic tectonic belt.The reserves of iron ore and cobalt-nickel are about 3.4 billion and 547 million tons respectively, the reserves of bauxite are over 1 billion tons, and the rutile are about 3 million tons, with high complementary to the shortage of China.The government of Cameroon encourages international investment through several polices, moreover, 60% of the national land has not been explored, implying excellent investing opportunities.For China's mining companies, only when they develop their international operation ability, understand the mining policies and investment environment of Cameroon, and deepen the cooperation in the field of geological survey, mineral exploration, infrastructure construction and ability building, they can take good use of the chance to invest in mining sector of Cameroon.
