China's natural gas safety situation and coping strategies under the Asia-Pacific natural gas supply and demand pattern

    • Along with the continuous adjustment of energy structure and the growth of natural gas consumption in various Asia Pacific countries such as China, Japan, Korea and India, the supply and demand pattern of natural gas in the Asia-Pacific region is becoming more and tenser. In this context, China's natural gas security is facing a threat, the import dependence of natural gas is deepened, and the security supply has geopolitical risks; imported natural gas is passively priced, and the trade links face severe challenges; the potential of natural gas supply is insufficient and the control ability of overseas resources is weak.To improve the supply capacity of natural gas in China, China should deepen the pipeline natural gas cooperation with the surrounding countries and accelerate the diversification of the LNG import sources, strive for the natural gas pricing power in the Asia-Pacific region, enhance the dominant power of natural gas trade, prevent and control natural gas consumption and increase blowout, and accelerate the formation of natural gas peak shaving reserve system.
