The actual consumption of copper in China from 2011 to 2016

China is a big copper resource consumer.It is important to calculate the actual consumption of copper in China to accurately grasp the copper consumption and the management of the copper resource.Based on the elemental flow analysis method, this paper analyzes the flow of copper in the production, consumption and trade of copper resources in China from 2011 to 2016, and obtains the actual consumption of copper in China from 2011 to 2016, and the apparent consumption of refined copper in the same year.The results show that the net import of copper in China is increasing in 2011-2016, and the actual consumption of copper is about 90% of the apparent consumption of refined copper.While importing a large amount of copper resources, China should strengthen the exploration of domestic copper resources, reduce production losses, increase the recycling of domestic waste copper resources, and develop a circular economy.
