Prospect and problem analysis of joint cataloging of geological collection agencies in China

With the rapid development of computer technology and network technology, the advantages of joint cataloging have become increasingly prominent, and more and more countries have attached importance to it.This paper starts with the current situation of joint cataloging in libraries at home and abroad.From the view of the current status of library cataloguing at home and abroad, the problems of geological data in China and the necessity of developing joint cataloging are discussed in the paper.The authors put forward the measures to promote the joint cataloging work of all geological collection agencies in China, which includes the establishment of a joint cataloging management system, the formulation of a unified cataloging data standard; the National Geological Archives should play a leading role and strictly control the quality of cataloging data.
