Abstract
The geophysical characteristics of the bright spot low-speed mudstone are mostly characterized by seismic response of “one black in two red”, low frequency and strong amplitude. And some may have obvious “V” channel incising features. The absorption analysis shows that the AVO is the type III, which is consistent with the characteristics of the gas-bearing reservoir. Therefore, it brings many traps to identify the gas bearing formation using the bright spot in the Yinggehai basin.Through the comprehensive analysis, it can be concluded that undercompaction, gas bearing and structural fractures are the three main causes of bright spot low-velocity mudstone in Yinggehai basin. It reveals by the research that the comprehensive utilization of pre-stack and post-stack methods can effectively distinguish the gas-bearing reservoir and low-velocity mudstone, and eliminate the possibility of the bright spot low-velocity mudstone trap.Through the practical application of this method in the area exploration, the false bright spot traps have been avoided effectively, and multiple traps have been defined creatively.Good application results have been obtained.
