Abstract
In order to reveal in African Karoo basin coalbed geological characteristics and the gas content, the existing drilling CBM data and 3D seismic data is analyzed through the correlation fitting for No.8 coal seam floor elevation and African Karoo basin coal prediction model of gas content, coalbed gas content was established based on the known data of coal seam floor elevation model to obtain the forecast of coal seam gas content value, for No.8 with the drilling verifies the data comparison of the measured gas content of coal seam, the prediction accuracy is over 85%, the use of limited geological data to predict gas content of the method is feasible.Studies have shown that African Karoo basin evolution degree of coal seam is higher, angry capability is strong, good tectonic conditions of coal, coal seam thickness is larger, infer basin coalbed methane enrichment in structure and hydrogeological characteristics, belongs to the development blocks of CBM resources abundant, provide the basis for exploration and development work.
