    Preliminary study on natural zoning of mineral resources in China

    • The natural zoning of mineral resources is the basic level of mineral resources zoning system, which is also the basis of the mining productivity layout and the mineral resources planning and management.This paper firstly defines the connotation, characteristics, objectives and principles of mineral resources natural zoning, constructs the zoning technical process based on spatial overlay, GIS kernel density estimation and expert judgment method, and carries out the empirical study on the natural zoning of mineral resources in China.Taking the natural geologic tectonic unit and the grid unit as the basic analysis unit, focusing on the concentricity of mineral resources distribution and the uniformity of regional mineralization, the country is divided into 28 resource-rich areas, with a view to explore the law cognition and provide the scientific basis for perfecting the mineral resources zoning system and improving the regional governance of mineral resources.
