    Study on characteristics and comprehensive utilization of waste rock resources in Hainan island

    • The resource characteristics and comprehensive utilization of waste rock in Hainan island are studied.The results show that the ferrous metal mines on the island discharge the largest amount of waste rock, and the utilization level is the lowest.The waste rock is basically used as the dumping piles in all large dumps; the discharge of waste stones from non-ferrous metal mines on the island is relatively small, and the waste rock is generally piled on the site with vertical (oblique) wells and used as primary raw materials.The degree of utilization is relatively low.The amount of waste rocks discharged from non-metallic mines on the island are relatively high.Waste rock is mainly used as a cement ingredient or as a raw material for gravel, which has a high degree of utilization.According to the characteristics of waste rock resources in different mines, it is proposed that the comprehensive utilization of waste rock in the island will include filling materials for the reclamation project, building stone materials, cement ingredients, and firing environmental protection bricks.
