Abstract
In order to study the seismic response of tailings reservoir, a valley type tailings dump in Shenzhen is used as the object.Using the QUAKE/W module in GEO-studio software, a constitutive model is established to study the changes in the initial stability and dynamic response of the dam.According to the post-earthquake liquefaction zone, whether or not the dam will liquefy is proposed and countermeasures are proposed. The results show that there is no obvious change in total stress, effective stress and shear stress before and after the earthquake in the seismic intensity of 6 degrees in the reservoir area; the pore water pressure in different positions of the tailings reservoir is increased and the relative elevation value and the earthquake time present linear relationship; liquefaction occurs at the foot of the dam slope, stress concentration; liquefaction will have a great impact on the stability of the dam.It is recommended to increase the stability of both the dam foundation and the foot of the slope, and it will increase the security of the tailings dam's safe operation.
