Analysis of global exploration situation and potential of boron resources

Boron resources are mainly concentrated in the Pacific rim and Mediterranean tectonic belts, and the total reserves of Turkey, Russia, the United States, Chile and China account for about 97% of the world's total reserves.From 2010 to 2017, global boron mine production show an increasing trend, reaching 9.8 Mt in 2017.To meet the increasing needs of the fast-growing national economy for the boron resources and utilize domestic and oversea resource effectively, in this paper, five boron resource potential areas, including Turkey's West Antalya, South America Andes, Liao-Ji-EastSiberia, Qinghai-Tibet, and the western United states are defined and some strategic advices, like using capital intervention to participate in the exploration and development of the Turkish boron mine, strengthening the exploration investment in the South American boron mine resource potential area, and increasing the domestic boron mine exploration investment and comprehensive utilization are proposed.
