Research on present situation and development trend of geological data catalogue:a case study of National Geological Archives of China

Geological data catalogue is the foundation and core of geological data collection institutions.With the rapid development of computer technology, it has become an important issue to make geological data catalogue play a better role through modern means.This paper starts with the present situation of data catalogue of National Geological Archives of China, it expounds the metadata construction and research results of National Geological Archives, and puts forward the development trend of geological data catalogue in the future, including the construction of general index database of geological data, the research of knowledge service and indexing, and the construction of data retrieval system, so as to effectively promote the management and service level of geological data.
