Forecast and suggestions of lithium resources demand for new energy vehicles in China

The development of new energy vehicles has led to a substantial increase in the demand for lithium resources, and the power battery is the main component to consume lithium.According to the industrial development policy and the power battery technology path, this paper analyzes the annual output of new energy vehicles, assembly ratio, capacity of the lithium battery and other parameters of new energy vehicles.We predict that the demand for lithium in China's new energy vehicles will reach 582 000 tons in 2030.Due to the large gap in the supply and demand of domestic lithium resources, it is recommended that improving local developing technology to lower external dependence, improving recycling technology to reduce supply risks, improving material utilization in battery manufacturing to ease supply pressure.
