Current situation and changing characteristics of oil and natural gas proved reserves in China

This paper analyzes current situation and changing characteristics of oil and natural gas reserves in China through proved geological reserves, proved undeveloped geological reserves and remaining technically recoverable reserves.The results show that the proved geological reserves, proved undeveloped geological reserves and remaining technically recoverable reserves are mainly distributed in Bohai bay basin, Songliao basin, Ordos basin, Sichuan basin, Tarim basin and Junggar basin.From 2008 to 2017, the largest increment of proved geological reserves of oil is in Bohai bay basin(onshore), and the largest increment of proved undeveloped geological reserves and remaining technically recoverable reserves of oil are in Ordos basin.The largest increment of proved geological reserves of natural gas is in Ordos basin, and the largest increment of proved undeveloped geological reserves and remaining technically recoverable reserves of natural gas are in Sichuan basin.Bohai bay basin(onshore), Ordos basin and Sichuan basin are the main body of increasing reserves and production in China.
