Thixotropic behavior of superfine tailings considering temperature

    • In order to explore the law of the thixotropic behavior flexibility under different temperature for superfine tailings filling slurry, three factors and four levels orthogonal experiment is designed. The influence of temperature, cement-sand ratio and concentration on the thixotropy of slurry is analyzed by using paddle rheometer and electron microscope, and the thixotropy behavior is explained from the micro level. The results show that temperature has the greatest influence on the form of thixotropy ring of high-concentration slurry. The thixotropy is most affected by the concentration, followed by the temperature, and they are on the same order of magnitude. The effect of cement-sand ratio on thixotropy is much lower than that of other two factors.Compared with before shear test, the diameter of flocs in slurry increases after shear test, and the distribution of flocs becomes sparse, which is consistent with the decrease of viscosity. The general interpretation of thixotropic behavior is provided, and it is very useful to control the thixotropy of slurry in industrial field.
