    Investigation, evaluation, protection and utilization of important rock mineral geoheritages in China

    • The important rock and mineral producing areas are the basic geoheritages.According to the survey results of the national geoheritages, 528 geoheritages points of the important rock and mineral producing areas have been identified, including 302 typical ore outcrops, 46 typical mineral rock naming sites, 143 mining relics, and 6 meteorite craters and bodies.According to the comprehensive evaluation of geoheritages evaluation indexes and evaluation standards of important rock mineral geoheritages, including 16 world-class, 185 national level and 311 provincial-level, the current situation of resources of important rock mineral geoheritages in China has been basically identified.Although many departments have taken a variety of protection methods in the protection and utilization of geological relics in important rock mineral geoheritages, including the world geopark, national geopark, national mine park, national industrial heritage, key cultural relics protection units, etc., which have played a certain role in the protection of geological relics in important ore areas, but also exposed many problems.In view of the preliminary investigation, it is necessary to conduct research on systematic survey and evaluation of geological traces of important rock and mineral geoheritages, establish a management network, carry out a comprehensive survey of geological traces of important rock mineral geoheritages in China, and provide guarantee for the protection and utilization of important rock mineral geoheritages.
